Dr. Gregory K. Leonard Explains Competition Analysis in Internet Industries to Chinese Antitrust Enforcers
Dr. Gregory K. Leonard, a partner at Edgeworth, was invited by the United States Chamber of Commerce to serve as the private industry representative at the US-China Workshop on Competition Law and Policy for Internet Activities, held in Shenzhen, China, June 4-5. Dr. Leonard delivered a speech that addressed internet business models and their implications for competition analysis.
The workshop was organized by China’s State Administration for Industry and Commerce (SAIC) and the U.S. Trade and Development Agency (USTDA). Other speakers at the workshop included officials from the United States Department of Justice, the Federal Trade Commission, the United States Patent and Trademark Office, USTDA, SAIC, a Chinese judge, and academics from Chinese universities.
Dr. Leonard is a leading expert on competition matters in China. He and Dr. Fei Deng served as consultants to the Anti-Monopoly Bureau under the Ministry of Commerce (MOFCOM) in a recent merger review, and they have advised multinational corporations on a number of antitrust matters in China.
