China Competition Economics

In China, Edgeworth experts have a long history of involvement in antitrust and competition issues. Our experts have provided advice and comments to each of the three Chinese antitrust agencies and the Chinese courts during the drafting of their regulations; testified in Chinese courts; and served as outside consultants to the Anti-Monopoly Bureau under the Ministry of Commerce (MOFCOM) in merger reviews and investigations.

In addition, Edgeworth experts have advised a number of multinational corporations in successfully achieving merger clearance in China and in strategic compliance with China’s anti-monopoly law. Our clients come to us because of our close working relationship with the agencies, deep understanding of Chinese culture, extensive practical experience in China, and, of course, expertise in economic analysis.

We have also provided valuation services for both domestic Chinese companies and multinational companies with operations in China pertaining to the valuation of intellectual property in the context of mergers and acquisitions, licensing negotiations, private equity financings, and international tax. Likewise, we have provided litigation and consulting services to Chinese companies facing issues in the United States and European Union.
