In this article, published in the April 2016 issue of the American Bar Association’s Antitrust Source, Partner Dr. Fei Deng and Principal Consultant Dr. Qian Lu reviewed the work of Ginger Zhe Jin, the Director of the FTC Bureau of Economics.

Throughout the review, Dr. Deng and Dr. Lu demonstrate Professor Jin’s extensive empirical research, which has focused on the effect of information disclosure on economic agents’ behavior and economic outcomes. Professor Jin’s research has involved collecting and building innovative datasets and exploiting natural experiments to answer complex questions. The authors explore Professor Jin’s involvement with the construction and publication of a digitalized nationwide database of restaurant hygiene inspections and her research experience studying policy effects across many industries including health care, prescription drug, and e-commerce.
