Webcast: Perspectives on Amazon.com, Inc. v. Commissioner

05.18.2017

On March 23, the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) was dealt a loss against Amazon in a $1.5 billion transfer pricing dispute regarding payments under a cost-sharing agreement between Amazon and a European affiliate. The Tax Court’s 207-page opinion discusses the analyses and conclusions of several experts and likely will have implications for taxpayers and the IRS in tax planning and transfer pricing disputes.

In this DC Bar webinar, Dr. George Korenko will participate on an expert panel discussing key takeaways from Amazon.com, Inc. v. Commissioner. Topics will include the factors leading to Amazon’s win, where the decision leaves the IRS in disputes under its 1995 and 2005 cost sharing regulations, and the implications for multinationals when selecting and applying transfer pricing methods.

This webinar program is sponsored by the International Tax Committee and the Tax Audits and Litigation Committee of the DC Bar Taxation Section.
