Edgeworth Partner Dr. Nathan D. Woods has extensive experience working with Fortune 100 companies as well as smaller companies on multi-year, multi-matter litigation and comprehensive consulting projects. When working on these projects, Dr. Woods is able to utilize his long-term relationship with clients and his existing knowledge of their specific datasets and organizational structure to contribute significantly to both external and internal matters, including efficiently answering complex client problems and assisting with litigation avoidance.
For a nationwide retailer, Dr. Woods initially provided analysis and testimony in an alleged race/ethnic discrimination in promotions litigation matter. Following this, he provided continued litigation defense support for the client in several different matters involving allegations of discrimination against race/ethnic, age and gender protected groups, in promotions, terminations, compensation, hiring, and background checks, as well as proactive analyses and recommendations related to diversity initiatives.
For a national home improvement retailer, Dr. Woods was relied on to provide consulting expertise on a wide variety of wage and hour and compliance matters over a period of several years. He provided the client with recommendations and analyses on matters involving allegations under the FLSA and state-specific laws involving misclassification, regular rate and minimum wage calculations, meal and rest breaks, and split shifts, among other topics.
