Dr. Jesse David Discusses the Economics Behind Recent Cloned Horse Antitrust Case

Edgeworth partner and director of the firm’s Pasadena office, Dr. Jesse David will be a panelist in a teleconference hosted by the ABA Section of Antitrust Law Agriculture and Food Committee. The teleconference, “Clone Wars: Abraham & Veneklasen Joint Venture v. American Quarter Horse Association,” will be held March 3, 2014, 2:00-3:00 p.m. ET.

The program is a panel presentation on Abraham & Veneklasen Joint Venture, et al. v. American Quarter Horse Association, et al., where last summer a jury found that a rule banning registration of cloned horses violated federal and Texas antitrust laws. The case in now on appeal. The panel will provide its perspectives on the plaintiff's and defendant's arguments, and, in particular, Dr. David will discuss the economic reasoning underlying the rule and its potential effects.

The teleconference is free for ABA Section of Antitrust Law members and is $25 for non-members.
