J.J. Prescott Joins Edgeworth Economics: Top National Economic Labor, Employment, Insurance and Damages Expert

WASHINGTON, DC – Edgeworth Economics, a fast-growing top economic consulting firm, announces the addition of University of Michigan Law Professor and economist J.J. Prescott as a senior academic affiliate to Edgeworth’s Washington, DC office.

Professor Prescott is Co-Director of University of Michigan Law School’s Program in Law and Economics. His economic expertise and research interests include labor and employment, law and economics, and litigation and alternative dispute resolution, including the economic and empirical modeling of civil litigation and settlement. Among the courses Professor Prescott teaches are employment law and law and economics. His considerable experience will add to Edgeworth’s practice areas of labor & employment, data management, and commercial damages. Professor Prescott regularly presents academic research at the American Law and Economics Association annual meetings and the Conference on Empirical Legal Studies annual meetings. In recent months, Prescott has presented papers at the University of Chicago Law School, Stanford Law School, Columbia Law School, and Cornell Law School. Among other work, Prescott has co-authored the Harvard Public Law Working Paper entitled “Disaggregating Employment Protection: The Case of Disability Discrimination.”

Professor Prescott earned his PhD in Economics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and his JD, magna cum laude, from Harvard Law School, where he was an editor and treasurer of the Harvard Law Review.
