Dr. Stephanie Cheng specializes in economic analysis related to labor economics, economics of science, and innovation. She has extensive experience analyzing large data sets and presenting work to multidisciplinary audiences.
Dr. Cheng’s academic research examined the science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) trainee labor market. In her dissertation, Dr. Cheng analyzes the impact of childcare on the tenure-track gender gap; factors affecting the decision to pursue and persist in postdoctoral positions; and policies that lengthen training time. Her work has been supported by the National Institutes of Health through the National Bureau of Economic Research and the Harvard Lab for Economic Applications and Policy.
Dr. Stephanie Cheng earned her PhD and MA in economics from Harvard University. She earned her BS in economics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
